THF now on Spotify
Hi There... I dont know if you have heard of it, but Spotify is a European based service that is like I-Tunes or some of the other ones like Rhapsody or Emusic, where you can listen to new music. Well, Spotify allows you to join for free and listen to music on their website (millions of songs for free, the catch is you can't download them and burn them, you can just listen to on all of your devices like your computer and your phone and Ipod) Anyway, our music is now on there to listen to...just plug in my name Stephen Budd and you'll see the cd Gathering Sky on there...give it a listen...
New dates have been booked at Hacienda del Sol, The Tucson Folk Festival and Cafe Jasper's...others are on the way..we will tell you the dates on the next posting as they are confirmed... Thanks for listening Fireflies!!

Mopst recently, our good humored and highly talented bassist, Jim Stanley, continues to shine in the recording sessions, despite not knowing some of the songs because they are so new...he has a really good ear, so things are progressing beautifully! Thanks Jim!!! and also thanks to our wonderful engineer/co-producer Chris Vatier... We hope to move onto recording the electric guitar overdubs within the next month and drop vocals down too...

Come with an empty stomach, a hungry heart and a taste for some good liquids as well as a desire for some
new songsas well as the ones you already know!
Also, Mike Peters (drummer/songwriter/singer/harmonica/cool dude), one of our founding members of this
more permanent version of the band (2 years together) is moving to Germany.. this is because his sweet
wifey, Char, has to go there for her work, so he has strangely decided that it might be a pretty good idea
to go with her...
...THUS...
his farewell performance with us will take place Saturday, October 8th at P*L*U*S*H on 4th Ave at 6th,
( 340 East 6th Street 85705 (520) 798-1298). Also performing that evening, starting at 930pm will be
the incredible Sycamore Bends (led by Jason Schneider) and following them will be the fabutabulous
singer/songwriter Leila Lopez at 10:30pm. Treehouse Fire will begin at 11:30pm...
We feel very honored to have both openers performing, and we are thrillled to be able to give Mike and Char a good going out, but they will be sorely missed.. Please invite your friends as this promises to be a wonderful evening! We wish them both great things in the future and we hope very much to keep crossing paths until the world eventually swallows itself...

We Have Commenced Recording the new CD
7 or 8 song EP/CD is in the works right now. We took much of October, since our Gin Blossoms opening spot, to focus on recording and arranging new songs for this cd. The recordings are taking place here in Tucson with the help of our co-producer extraordinaire, Chris Vitale. Last week we recorded bass and acoustic guitars, replacing our basic tracks of an earlier session (except Mike Peters spot on drums! Nice work Mike!!!) This week (11/2/2010) we had a very successful session recording vocals for three of the songs that will be on the cd, "White Man on the Underground Railroad", "Tucson Story", and the folky, bluegrassy, indie ballad, "Red River". Just a few more sessions and we should have the cd done, just before the holidays we hope! See you soon!

Funny Quote...just thought we'd pass along..
"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."
